Packing-

Packing my suitcase for Washington D.C isn't easy, I worried I didn't pack enough or that I over packed. I'm really excited to present in front of all those people but I kind of scared too, what if I don't speak loud enough what if no one understands me? I worried and excited both to present. Overall I'm excited and I'll have a hard time falling asleep tonight.

It was the afternoon on Sunday, July 1st. It was a couple weeks after my 9th birthday. It was a beautiful day to go swimming, sunny and hot. After lunch I begged my dad "Please dad please, can we go to the pool?"
Now we live in a condo so we have a pool 1 minute away if we walked.
"Ok Shin Be, go get ready"
"Yes!!! Thanks dad! By the way could we invite Christina? We live right across from her?"
Christina was a friend of mine just a year older than me. My birthday was on her half birthday and her birthday was on my half birthday.
"Sure, I'll go invite her than I'll come back up to get you."
"Great thanks"
I was thinking, this is going to be awesome! So we walked to the pool with Christina and we found out that a couple people were already there. I remembering another time I was at the pool, I was 5 and my dad was teaching me how to swim and float on my back. There was just as many people there as there was now.
"Come on, last one in is a rotten egg!"
 "You're on"
So I ran and jumped right into the light blue, faint green pool making a huge splash of water land on Christina! The cool water felt refreshing after standing it the blistering hot sun.
"Hey, I'll get you back!" So she jumped into the water splashing me back. "Ha, Ha!"
So we were laughing and playing but we noticed that my dad disapeared for a while and when he came back he brought a cooler full of snacks.
"Thanks Papa! I was getting really hungry!"
"Thank you Mr. Felsner, I was also hungry!"
Then it happened, right when we sat down to eat it the very far corner with a big cream colored umbrella. The big wicker chairs were also cream colored. The chairs were very big with tall handles and a back that be moved backwards and forwards. Christina and I could fit in one chair together and still have room.
A big duck honked from a little outside of the pool gate. We weren't scared, becuase a duck never came inside of the gate anyways. The brown and green Mallard duck with its little ducklings waddling behind her.
"1,2,3,4,5. 5 baby ducklings!" My dad said in amazement.
"Wow, that a lot of ducklings, you don't think the momma will attack us do you? Christina asked.
"If we don't tease the duck it won't attack us."
In my head I thinking, oh no what if the duck does attack us. I think I'll just throw some bread at it. When at that moment the duck and its ducklings jumped the fence and started honking really loudly. The 5 baby ducklings were learning to swim the first time in this pool. That remembered again when I was learning how to swim and my dad was helping me just like the momma duck was helping the ducklings. Then the mom stopped helping them and started to honk at us getting right up in our face. The he duck was honking at every single person in the pool. Then for one reason or another, the duck started to come after us. At that moment, dad took a huge hunk of bread and cheese and held it right in front of the duck.
"You want the bread?" my dad said. "Then go get it!" He threw the bread so far with a graceful arc, it went over the gate and far, far away. I had a thousand thoughts whirling inside my head. What would happen if my dad didn't throw it far enough or the duck didn't even want it. What if the duck still decided to attack us instead of going after the bread? I was still thinking about those things when I heard a honk. I looked up and saw the ducks waddling away from the pool probably thing about how mean my dad is.  I'm so glad that that idea worked because if my dad hadn't thrown that bread than those ducks would've pecked us. So right after the duck left we went back to having our snack. Of ham and a little more bread and cheese that he saved a little of so we could have a sandwich. After that it was getting late so we dropped off Christina at her house then we walked home and the whole time I was thinking about today and how I can't wait until tomorrow.

Cello Lessons are really fun, and I look forwards to it every week. I have the lessons on Tuesdays.  I just got back from one and I'm learning about 16th notes and how you count them like this: 1 e & a. If you go fast you say it like this 1e&a. My teacher is named Angie and she is really nice a great cello player. I can't wait until next week to learn more about my cello and its music.

Today from 2:30 to 6:00 we had rehearsal for our trip to Washington D.C. Each time trough it took about 30 minutes to an hour to go through everyone's slide. At around 3:10 it was our turn to speak about the letter writing for 2 minutes. By (we my mean me and Ania) We did pretty good seeming that we practiced a lot. Then at about 4:00 to 4:10 we took a break to go out in the halls and get a snack and get some water. Then we did it another 2 times. The 2nd time we did it we forgot a big part of it. The 3rd time we did it almost perfectly expect I need to speak louder! Then at about 5:20 we went outside for a little bit to run around. Then at about 6:00 the meeting was over and it was time to go home. My dad picked my up at around 6:20. Overall I had a great day.

As soon as you walk into the Master Bathroom all you smell is the strong smell of wet paint waiting to be brushed onto the wall. Today my dad decided to paint the bathroom. I helped him throughout the day. Other than the painting I didn't do that much expect to go out and eat. We got nachos and chicken strips. So as soon as I got home I went straight outside and raked together a huge pile of leaves and jumped straight into them. It was a ton of fun, I was covered in the rainbow of colors such as red, yellow, orange, there was even some pink. Afterwards it was time for supper, then now I'm sitting here doing my AHW. Now that I think about it the day wasn't that boring after all.

One day in the world of Miracle land there was a nice fair queen whose name was Annabelle. Now everyone assumes that the queens name is Miracle but its not. Its named Miracle because of all the miracles that happen there. But there was one girl who was very different from everyone else. Everyone else is very lucky and gets a lot of miracles happening to them. But not this girl, her name is Anna. Everything bad that can happen will happen to her. Like this one time when there was this big french horn hanging on the ceiling for 200 years then it just happens to fall exactly on Anna and the French horn  was stabilized by 30 different metal chains and ropes. Then a porcupine shoots its quills right on Anna's face.

I'm really nervous about my Washington D.C speech because I just now figured out that I have stage fright. I also need to work on how loud I need to be. I'm trying not be get quiet and speak up when I talk. Also I'm trying to control my stage fright and not freeze up. I need a lot of work and practice to become as good as some people in Forensics. I know my lines the only problem is that I forget them when I go up on stage. I'm worried and confident at the same time. Worried I might mess up on my speech and confident that I going to practice as hard as I can.

Excited

I'm excited for Halloween becuase I'm going to be at Washington D.C. At D.C. We're going to present to a bunch of people about the steps it got to get to Peoject COPE. Ania and I are speaking about the BCS touchstone and letter writing. The only thing that I'm sad about is I can't spen Halloween with my family or go trick or treating. But we still get to bring our coustume and I'm deciding between a witch and a vampire. The witch has a black and silver dress with a huge hoop at the bottom, also I have a tall witches hat and a broom, that has long black and silver tinsel for the end of the broom. The vampire coustume has a long black dress with blood red ruffles and a large black velvet collar. I thinkI'm going to be a vampire.

Today I had a meet at Beverly Park. I wasn't really looking forward to it because it was going to be really muddy and lots of people might lose their shoes or slip and fall. But the mud wasn't that bad. We were competing against BHMS Bloomfield Hills Middle School. There were 150 kids on their team!!! That's a ton of people. First went the boys there was a BH runner right behind our best runner (Sam) but Sam got first place. After all the boys went it was the girls turn. BCS came in 1st,2nd and 3rd. I got 12th place and I beat my old time by about 45 seconds!! My time was 17:22, a new personal best. I didn't feel very good after the race I could barley swallow and I was coughing a lot. As I sit here I feel so good about my run, I'm just very, very tired.

Today was my mom's birthday. Actually her birthday is Monday, but we are celebrating today. We gave her a bunch of presents. After we decorated the dining room we sang her "Happy Birthday" and I played along on my cello. After that we took some pictures and mom blew out the candles. We ate some cake, but not too much, we didn't eat supper yet. For supper we're having spaghetti with Italian sausage because the long noodles represent a long life. (I don't remember a birthday without spaghetti) Then I played with flying Scissors! Flying scissors is a game I invented with Ania yesterday. We attached string to the scissor handles then we put it on my hanging bar. When we pulled the strings the scissors would move up and down and forwards and backwards. When they went all the way to the top they would open.

Today we had a cross country meet and everyone in cross country got dismissed early because we were riding a bus. I got all of my stuff and went to the locker rooms to get into my jersey. When I looked in my bag I found out that I forgot to bring my running shorts. I was freaking out because you can't run in leggings. One of my friends said I could borrow her mid-length leggings. they only go just below my knees so it wouldn't be too long. When I got on the bus I sat with Megan. At the meet, the other team (Orchard Lake Middle School) didn't have any 6th graders so we were racing against ourselves. Since me and Grace J. are almost the same speed we ran together until just before the end. I was so close to Lira that I started sprinting trying to beat her but I just could not catch her. In the end I was 2 seconds slower than her. My time was 18:15 minutes. It was a difficult course.

10 minute writing for September 29

I was 7 and in the first grade and was walking into Geepers with my dad when I accidentally ran into someone. I turned around to apologize to her and I gasped "Deena?" "Yep, that's me, hey Shin Be!"  "So did you just get here?" I asked her "Yes, not 5 seconds ago." She replied. In my head I was thinking how we always see each other everywhere, at the mall, at the library, even once at Cedar Point! Then we went up to the front desk to get my tickets and Deena did the same. (96)

Now we were on the tall indoor roller coaster in Jeepers after play about 20 games and using up about half of our tokens. Now I went with my dad and Denna because Deena's dad didn't want to go on it. Now it goes about 4 or 5 stories high with about 30 twists and turns. This was my first time on it so I was kind of scared. I remembered last year when I went to Cedar point and I rode a really scary roller coaster (I can't remember the name right now) that was super-duper high with a lot of dips. I was scared then but I did it anyways. So like magic my fear went away and I wasn't scared anymore. So as the car slowly chugged up the hill I was smiling in ancipitation for the drop that was going to come next. (147)

Cross Country

If you don't know I run Cross Country, and a couple days ago I had a meet. On that day, Sarah had broken her elbow the day befor so she couldn't run. Which ment we only had 5 6th grade girl's running. That was the bare minimum of runners. So I waited until they said ready set GO! That day were vs. Birkshire. I made one new friend from the other team. So I was running and I thought to myself, hey I'm doing pretty good.

Yesterday, I went to the mall with my parents to but some new shoes for when I go to Washington D.C, so we went to Sears and went to the shoe's isle. There were so many formal shoes to choose from. Should I pick heels or flats? Black shoes or blue? Sparkles and flowers or plain? I decided I wanted black flats that were plain. Now the hard part was finding some shoes that were flats. Then when a got a 10 shoes that were all flats I narrowed it down to 3 pairs of shoes, the ones that were black. Then got it down to 2 shoes, one had a small black flower at the tip of each toe with a plastic gem in the middle. The other one was black with no designs. I chose the plain black pair of shoes, then afterwards we went out for lunch at Taco Bell. Then it was time to go home.

Grandpa's Grave

It was almost midnight in South Korea and I was in a car with my mom, uncle and aunt. All of a sudden  my uncle pulled to a stop. "What? Yeah, I'm... Oh, awake" "It's OK, go back to sleep, we just stopped here because we're visiting you grandpa's Grave tomorrow." My uncle and aunt said. "Yes, I'm so excited! I'm not tired anymore, can I go in too?" I asked very eagerly. "Sure, don't touch everything." My mom warned me. "I won't." I reassured her. So we went into the store. Now it looks almost exactly like an American Gorcery store. Expect for the things they sell. We bought dried salted fish, seaweed, sushi, tradition soup, a type of candy that I picked out, and I convinced them to buy aloe. Which is a light green drink made from the leaf of a cactus, and it tastes very good and it's good for you. We also got a bad of fresh baby tomatoes, some cereal, milk, crackers, noodles, fresh fruit such as yellow melon, grapes, strawberrys and oranges. We left the store and went home. The next day I awoke with a great big smile on my face thinking "Oh boy I can't wait 'till I see my grandpas grave, I know it would be better to see him in person but is is better than nothing! Then I remembered a day a couple moths before this when I went and saw my grandma on my dads side.

Painting my room

Now I might've told you how I was going to paint my room a month ago. Well my parents and I still haven't decided on a color yet. So about 2 weeks ago we went to the Home Depot and got 2 more colors to try out. One of them is a silver/light brown/ earth tones and the other color is a dark hunter green. I don't really like that color because its dark and not very happy looking. So tomorrow we're going to paint and then pick one color to paint the room. This time we actually are going to paint the room.

"Great thanks" I was thinking, this is going to be awesome! So we walked to the pool with Christina and we found out that a couple people were already there. I remembering another time I was at the pool, I was 5 and my dad was teaching me how to swim and float on my back. There was just as many people there as there was now. "Come on, last one in is a rotten egg!" "You're on" So I ran and jumped right into the light blue, faint green pool making a huge splash of water land on Christina! The cool water felt refreshing after standing it the blistering hot sun. "Hey, I'll get you back!" So she jumped into the water splashing me back. "Ha, Ha!" So we were laughing and playing but we noticed that my dad disapeared for a while and when he came back he brought a cooler of snacks. "Thanks Papa! I was getting really hungry!" "Thank you Mr. Felsner, I was also hungry!" Then it happened, right when we sat down to eat it the very far corner with a big cream colored umbrella. "Wow, that a lot of ducklings, you don't think the momma will stack us do you? Christina asked. "If we don't tease the duck it won't attack us." In my head I thinking, oh no what if the duck does attack us. I think I'll just throw some bread at it. When at that moment the duck and its ducklings jumped the fence and started honking really loudly. The 5 baby's were learning to swim the first time in this pool. While the duck was honking at every single person in the pool.

It was the afternoon on Sunday, July 1st. It was a couple weeks after my 9th birthday. It was a beautiful day to go swimming, sunny and warm. After lunch I begged my dad "Please dad please, can we go to the pool?" Now we live in a condo so we have a pool 1 minute away if we walked. "Ok Shin Be, go get ready" "Yes!!! Thanks dad! By the way could we invite Christina? We live right across from her?" Christina was a friend of mine just a year older than me. My birthday was on her half birthday and her birthday was on my half birthday. "Sure, I'll go invite her than I'll come back up to get you."
